JOHN H. McGLYNN

 

John H. McGlynn, originally from Wisconsin (USA), is a long-term resident of Jakarta where, in 1987, he co-founded the Lontar Foundation, the only organization in the world devoted to the publication of Indonesian literature in translation. Through Lontar, he has overseen the publication of close to two hundred books on Indonesian literature and culture. McGlynn is the Indonesia country editor for Manoa, and a contributing editor to Words Without Borders, Cordite, and Asian American Writers’ Workshop.  He is also a trustee of AMINEF, the American Indonesian Exchange Foundation, which oversees the Fulbright and Humphrey scholarship programs in Indonesia.
